More than a month after Chick-fil-A opened its first standalone store in New York City on Oct. 3, enthusiasm for the chain's fried chicken sandwiches remains rampant.

Today, a drizzly Thursday afternoon in November, this was Part 1 of the sidewalk line. It was just past 1 p.m. But wait, there's even more line yet!
To avoid blocking the other store fronts, Part 2 of the line continued a few feet away.
Chick-fil-A employees called out to Line 2 customers when they could step forward to Line 1.
Once inside, a group of seven workers took orders via handheld tablets as customers inched ahead, speeding up the ordering process. Customers then paid for and picked up their food at the counter.

All in all, it moved pretty fast. The total wait time, from the back of Line 2 to having a sandwich in hand, was 18 minutes.
