Apple's iTunes Store Shut Down By Massive Service Outage

The company’s online retail stores have been down for six hours and could be costing the company millions in lost sales.

Starting early Wednesday morning, Apple has been experiencing major server outages, which has left multiple services including its App store, iBooks store, iTunes store, and Mac App store out of commission for over six hours.


The cause of the outage is not clear. Many of Apple's non-retail services appear unscathed, including Apple Pay, which is working fine. The company introduced iOS 8.2, the latest iteration of its mobile operating system, on Monday.
