Nearly a year in planning by sole event coordinator Frank Maggio of Acid Reign Car Audio on Lunenburg St. in Fitchburg, the First Annual Acid Reign Car Show was blessed with great weather and over 300 people from all parts of New England with a passion for cars. Car clubs and organizations came from RI, CT, NH and Boston to participate in a competition that was anything but anti-climactic. The classes of cars were mistakenly labeled on the judging forms so it seems, leading to a dramatic trophy ceremony with passionate discourse over what could be done with the remaining trophies as police presence consisting of the Massachusetts State Police, the North Worcester County Drug Task Force, Fitchburg Police, Leominster Police and Sterling Police kept a close eye from an adjacent parking lot. Gratitude is owed these members of Law Enforcement for their diligence in maintaining the peace simply with their presence. In the end, Frank gave the people what they wanted (trophies of recognition for their work and passion) and will continue to resolve any discrepancies that those registered competitors may have.
